Sennos version 5 Tank Connector SOP
Materials required:

One standard Tank Connector Assembly consists of the following. See pictures below for reference.

Connector Manifold
B - 1 - Triclamp Hanger
C - 1 - Sensor Hub Bracket
D - 2 - Inlet hoses (green band)
E - 2 - Outlet hoses (black band)
F - 1 - ½” triclamp to 1 ½” triclamp adapter

Cleaning:
The stainless steel hoses of the v5 Tank Connector are
initially cleaned in-line with the Fermentation Hub itself during the normal
cleaning process, after being connected to the provided plastic cleaning hoses pictured above. They will need to be sanitized again just
before being connected to the manifold on the tank. All Tank Connector Assembly pieces are then
cleaned using the standard instructions in the version 2.0 User Guide, or in the How to Clean and Sanitize the Tank Connector article.
Assembling the Tank Connector and attaching to your tank:
- Remove the
thumb screw from the top of the Fermentation Hub, place the Fermentation
Hub bracket on the back of the Fermentation Hub and tightly replace the
thumb screw. See picture below.
- Screw the Filter onto the inlet tube of the Tank Connector Manifold
- Using the Triclamp Hanger, attach the Tank Connector Manifold to the sample port of the fermenter, ensuring the logo is facing directly up, and the hanger is vertical with the steel plate pointing down
- Optional - Use the 2” spool to extend the manifold off the face of the tank if necessary. Ensure the Triclamp hanger is on the front of the spool.
- Using the ½” triclamps and gaskets, connect the inlet and outlet hoses to the manifold.
- It is critical to connect the inlet hose to one of the ports on the RIGHT of the manifold, colored GREEN
- It is critical to connect the outlet hose to one of the ports on the LEFT of the manifold, colored BLACK
- Optional - connect the sanitary diaphragm valves to the manifold first, then the inlet and outlet hoses to the valves.
- Using the ½” triclamps and gaskets, cap the remaining ports on the manifold
- Optional - connect the ½” - 1 ½” triclamp adapter to the remaining black port on the left side of the manifold, and attach a sample port.
- To mount the Fermentation Hub, insert the pin on the back of the Fermentation Hub Bracket into the slot on the Triclamp Hanger and slowly slide into place.
- Connect the Inlet Hose quick connect valve to the valve on the right of the Fermentation Hub by pushing down firmly until it clicks.
- Connect the
Outlet Hose quick connect valve to the valve on the left of the
Fermentation Hub by pushing down firmly until it clicks. See picture below for full setup.
- Optional - If using the Sanitary Diaphragm valves, ensure they are both open by turning the handle counterclockwise until it stops.
- Once you’re finished monitoring your fermentation, you can close the Sanitary Diaphragm valves by turning the handles clockwise until they stop, then remove the Inlet and Outlet hoses from the Tank Connector Manifold by removing the ½ inch triclamps.
- Start your fermentation following the standard instructions in the version 2.0 User Guide.
- If purging
the Fermentation Hub of sanitizer, follow the standard instructions in
the version 2.0 User Guide.
IMPORTANT
As soon as the Fermentation Hub is removed from the tank after you're done monitoring your fermentation, attach another set of Tank Connector hoses to the top of the Fermentation Hub! This will ensure that pressure within the unit doesn't build before the unit is cleaned. You will then need to clean the Fermentation Hub later that same day.
