Troubleshooting - Connecting the Fermentation Hub to Wi-Fi

BMSH-XXXXXXXXXXXX Wi-Fi network is not showing up on your Wireless Networks Menu

  1. Exit your wireless network menu, then reload it again.  Wait for 5-10 seconds and it should pop up
  2. Ensure the LED light is blinking yellow.  If it is not, hold down the button in the middle of the LED light for 5 seconds, or until the light changes properly

192.168.4.1 Address Not Working

  1. Ensure that you're still connected to the BMSH-XXXXXXXXXXXX Wi-Fi network.  Some computers, smartphones, and tablets will automatically leave this network after initially connecting since it's not possible to actually connect to the internet through this network.  Please reconnect and try to pull up the 192.168.4.1 webpage again

The Fermentation Hub is not connecting properly after clicking on the TEST CONNECTION button

  1. The Fermentation Hub (formerly SensorHub) can ONLY connect to 2.4G networks, not 5G networks.  Please ensure you're not trying to connect to a 5G network.
    1. If the network you're connecting to was displayed in the SSID drop-down list, it's not 5G.  The only way you can attempt to connect to a 5G network is by choosing Other from the SSID drop-down menu and typing it in
  2. ALL fields on the SensorHub Wi-Fi Setup page are case-sensitive.  Please ensure all letters are capitalized correctly
  3. Does your Wi-Fi network have a strong connection?  When you look at the available Wi-Fi networks using the SSID dropdown, there is a color-coded number to the right of each, along with a Good, Fair, or Poor rating.  The closer to 0 the number is, the stronger your network.  Trouble connecting and general network disconnections start around -75, and get worse as the number moves farther from 0
    1. If the connection strength is poor, please move the Fermentation Hub and wireless router closer together to improve the strength, then try again
  4. Is there a heavy firewall installed on your network?  Occasionally, companies will have extremely secure firewalls installed (especially very large companies or educational institutions) that prevent the Fermentation Hub from connecting properly without permission.  If so, please speak with your IT department, or whoever installed the Wi-Fi network, to see if the Fermentation Hub needs to be allowed through
  5. Does your company use a static IP address Wi-Fi network?  If so, you will need to use the ADVANCED button to properly connect the Fermentation Hub to your Wi-Fi network.  Please ensure that ALL fields are filled out accordingly
  6. Try again See How to Connect the Fermentation Hub to Wi-Fi
